Total sales of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) rose to about USD24 billion in 2021 from just USD95 million in 2020. This has to attribute to Beeple’s NFT, which was sold for almost USD70 million in February 2021. Since then, NFTs has caught the attention of many artists and the public, and many have since joined the minting rush.
At the peak in November 2021, there are more than 19 million NFTs minted in a day. On an average day recently, about 500 thousand NFTs were minted. How would you stand out from the sea of the NFTs？Your NFT could become a needle in a haystack if all you did was just mint it and pray that someone would pick it up.
If you are an artist with a huge fan base, you will garner support from your fans, like Beeple and Pak. Else, if your NFTs have unique ideas or as the first-movers, like the Merge or CryptoPunks, they could catch the attention of potential collectors. Even if that is the case, having a community to keep the project relevant is still a very important factor.
DKEY NFT is born out of the realisation of the importance of building community and keeping the project relevant by looking into the utilities of the NFTs. It is the brainchild of Ines (founder of DKEY), Jae (artwork curator) and Ivy (blockchain specialist).
Different from dozens of NFT platforms out there, DKEY NFT does not position itself as a platform to mint NFTs but rather a marketplace showcasing curated artists’ works. This gives the potential buyers a layer of security and confidence. One more thing that DKEY NFT is doing differently than most of the other NFT platforms or marketplace is its commitment to educating its artists and users. Anyone who comes into DKEY NFT is part of the big family, and we would like to have everyone work closely together to create value for everyone. To kick start, we are introducing 3 aspiring artists, Fong Jia Lok, Reignchaos01 and STAR Channel. The medium they are using includes charcoal, acrylic and watercolour. Some of the NFTs do come with actual physical artworks.
Fong Jia Lok is a full-time artist. His works are focused on contemporary society, reflecting public perspective towards life. Reignchaos01 focuses on pop culture, and STAR Channel is an experienced art teacher who finds beauty everywhere and records them in the form of art.
